They deal with media enquiries , write press releases and generate interest for company campaigns.
Press officers respond to enquiries from journalists, write press releases, try to interest journalists in their organisation’s stories and campaigns, arrange for spokespeople to speak to the press, and monitor media coverage.
So how do you get there?
Press Officers will usually have an undergraduate degree in subjects like Media Studies,English or Journalism.
A qualification from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations could also be desirable to employers.
Press Officers can earn between £15,000 and £40,000 a year.

Press officers typically work for large organisations across a range of different sectors. These can range from pharmaceutical companies, building firms, accountancy firms, charity and government bodies/organisations.
